Kaelyn Garcia, just recently launched her own line this Spring and is sold at Bird, in Brooklyn. Textiles have always been an interest to Kaelyn so with her first line she decided to keep it small and focus on knitwear. This first collection was influenced by the sea, a dreamlike sensibility and quiet feeling. The stitches used in the tanks reflect this by being very light with subtle details. Kaelyn is hoping that for her next collection she can grow and add more hand-woven details along with more accessories into the line.

Kaelyn was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised just outside of the city.  Exposure to varied traditions within different cultures has been an ongoing motivating factor for her to learn and experience renewed interests in the art of hand-knitting, weaving, and dying. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
