Digs + Scarfitecture

Digs

Digs is committed to supporting sustainable business practices. With a variety of products each representing a healthy balance between social equity or fair trade and environmental concerns, Digs understands the importance of the triple bottom line – People, Planet, Profits.

Scarfitecture is a new initiative that embodies these values. The brainchild of Dita Zakova, Founder and Director of Ecolibri.org and Rhea Alexander, Founder and President of DIGS.com, the Scarfitecture project invites seven international, renown architects to create an image, texture, or painting on a 2m x 45cm paper to be rendered into woven textiles by artisans of Ecolibri (www.ecolibri.org) at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala using a back-strap loom and sustainable materials, such naturally dyed threads and reclaimed /recycled materials like unraveled old sweaters.
